Rishid had been rushed to Chitwan for medical treatment but he could not be saved, according to his School's assistant principle Tribhuvan Tiwari. Rishid was a Grade One student at Lumbini Boarding School in Kawasoti. The area where Rishid lived is known as an area with poisonous snakes, where, on an average, 15 people die of snake bite every year.
Lack of Intensive Care Unit or ICU facilities in the hospitals around Kawasoti has been an obstacle to treat people bitten by poisonous snakes, said Chief of the Kaligandaki Community Hospital Dr Gopal Khanal.
